Fragments of Death

You notice when an object is touched with death. For the duration, when you encounter an object whose owner is dead or any humanoid or beast that died within a month ever touched it, you feel it immediately. If you end the spell early with a bonus action, you can communicate with the fragments of the dead person and ask it two questions or spend 1 minute listening to it if you ask no questions. The fragment's answers may be cryptic and weird depending on the discretion of the GM, and the fragments are limited to when they last were in touch with the spirit.

At Higher Levels

When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher you can increase the duration up to 1 minute or ask one more question for each slot level above the 1st.
